He is a very caring dog because in the book “The Call of the Wild” every time Spitz (the old alpha male) was punishing his teammates Buck always jumped in to protect them. He protected John Thornton from whatever might have been a threat to him. Buck constantly keep an eye out for him and when John was killed by the group of Indians Buck lost it and killed as many of them as he could. By doing that it showed how hurt he was and also how much he cared for the one owner that truly loved him, John Thornton. Buck also played with his wild brother the wolf and didn’t attempt to hurt him once showing that he cared for the wild
