The day the figurehead of the Beatles and lead singer John Lennon died, it seems as if a simple killing united the world as one on one devastating day. John was killed on December 8th 1980 by Mark David Chapman outside of his New York Apartment, forever moving the image of the music industry. I believe that John Lennon’s assassination was an unjust act of obsession that ultimately ended the life of one of the most influential people in all of music; however is success lacked due to his chronic battle with pathological lying and alcohol. I believe John had a strong passion for the movement of non-violence and peace all across the world, promoting the cause within his creations of music. His message had such power to leave many wondering …show more content…
John’s first meeting with drugs was when he was still enrolled in school. “The first drugs I ever took, I was still at art school, with the group – we all took it together – was Benzedrine from the inside of an inhaler.” Said Lennon in 1974 (). John was soon completely engulfed with the power of the substances and drinks he took, which lead him to even become a pathological liar. John also was accused of abusing Yuko Ono, and his former wife on multiple accounts. His first wife, Cynthia Powell, bore his first child Julian, who John apparently constantly took more measures than needed with the child (). John’s battle with drugs stimulated the abuse he put onto the women and children within his lifetime. John Lennon’s assassination is still considered unjust, because of his international fame and faith in taking action in what he believes fully in, despite his mistakes in which he attempted to fix. John may have made some self-centered mistakes, however he still pushed forward despite his faulty substance abuse. It is apparent that John deserved to live his life in order to recover his former mistakes, which therefore proves why his killing was at the upmost unjust. John would have been celebrating this 80th birthday this

The Warren Commission concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone and was not part of a conspiracy to assassinate President Kennedy; I disagree with this claim. After careful evaluation of all the evidence presented in the case, I believe that Lee Harvey Oswald acted as part of a conspiracy to assassinate the president. Analysis of the potential motives of different groups, direct/testimonial evidence, physical/forensic evidence, and circumstantial evidence found at Dealey Plaza shows that there is a real possibility that the assassination of President Kennedy was not carried out by a single man. Testimonial evidence, in addition to a few conceivable motives to kill the president, support the idea that Kennedy’s murder on November twenty-second,…
