The communities that showed belief in Jesus Christ at the time of his life comprised of people who were based in the lower class of civilization and were desperate for something to believe in and follow, this created a community of people that saw Jesus Christ as there savior from there lives of suffering.

This caused the followers and disciples of Jesus Christ to live a life of danger as they were wrongly sent to jail and persecuted because of what they chose to follow.
This is portrayed by Saul, during his travel to Damascus a extremely bright light shined on him from heaven and heard the voice of God say "Why are you a persecuting me", after this conversation with god, he became a great follower of Christ, whilst doing this Saul now known as Paul took on the dangers of traveling the Mediterranean regions such as bandits, Roman officials, risk of running out of food and water, injuring himself, the list could go on which shows just how much Paul loved and believed in Christ itself.
During his journey in spreading the word of Christ he was finally caught by the Romans and was later wrongly executed.

The higher class of civilization were mostly made up of people who did not see Jesus Christ as the savior as they refused to accept what Jesus proclaimed to be.
This group of people may have not shown the amount of enthusiasm to follow Jesus and weren't as willing as the less fortunate people were, as they were not in need of a savior and felt that there society was fine the way it was as they were successful and safe.
The coming of Jesus represented change which to the wealthy people and the emperor showed a great threat to everything they owned which resulted in the cruxifixction of Jesus Christ by Pontius Pilate.
