Jessica Florentino is; loud, honest, funny, and a city girl at heart. She grew up in the Bronx with her two brothers and sister, who she is very close to. Throughout her past academic career, she attended performing arts schools. Jessica had a passion for the arts and she knew this is what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. However; the odds of making a career for herself in this industry caused her to look other ways and go down a different path.
One of the main reasons Jessica is came to Utica was because of the CSTEP program offered here at Utica College. This program gave her the opportunity to better herself and her education at an institution she would not have been able to afford. This program pays for all funds necessary for her to attend Utica College. She feels thankful to have this opportunity, and this program is also where she met one of her best friends.

Utica has one of the best nursing program because of how hands on it is. She knew that if she wanted to be a nurse she would need to get into this program. Disappointed is one word to describe how Jessica felt, she also had no clue what she was going to do. However she was told that if she gets a good enough GPA her first semester, that she would be put in the nursing program. Jessica got a good enough GPA and more; she excelled in all of her classes and did way better than she thought she would. One of the reasons Jessica wants to be a nurse is because she wants to have a secure job. She wants to be able to provide for her family that she wants to have one day and not have to worry about not having enough
