Jersey Shore Medical Center Internship Analysis

Finding an internship for September had been difficult. Currently, an internship has not been found. Although, there are a few options that are being pursued. Jersey Shore Medical Center as well as Meridian Healthcare is going to be contacted in hopes of receiving an internship. As a student-athlete wanting to become a doctor, scheduling an internship is extremely hard. Therefore, this internship wouldn’t start until November. Until then, the plan is to research more and possibly shadow a doctor at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Being a doctor requires someone to have compassion and determination to help the patient in every way possible. Compassion and determination are two of the many basic skills required for the profession. As an intern, the patients would be aided as much as possible. Compassion would be displayed and judgement would not exist. Giving up on the patient would be out of the question. Growing up with an aunt and a younger cousin having cancer, I have always been eager to find out the results of the tests they had done. Skills, such as the ones mentioned previously, would help better mankind because the world needs more compassionate doctors. Some doctors do their job for the money while others do their job because they love it and genuinely want to help people. A person will never work a day in their life if they love their job. Luckily for me, I will be enjoying my job, helping people, and receiving money. Not many people want to be oncologists because they don’t want to deal with the depressing side of the job.
