I went to church for the first time when I was seven years old. There was an event for the students that give some presents, if they come to church. I was fascinated by the special gifts so that I could have a motivation to go to church on every Sundays. Even though I was telling everyone that I am a Christian and I go to church, I was not a true believer. In other words, I just went to church because it was Sunday morning and there were many friends that I wanted to hang out with. There was no opportunity to think about God and Jesus deeply. In addition, as I grew up and became a middle school student, I made an excuse for myself not going to church that I have so much school works to do. Through school activities such as discussions, chapels, pray time, praise rally, volunteering, and bible class, I could think deeply about God and his words. Although I had many chances to get closer to him, I knew that it does not make me a true Christian. When I was struggling with being a true believer, my church friend’s testimony influenced me to change my behavior. Her name is Jennifer Yoon. She shared a verse; Isaiah 29:13, it said, “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men.” As soon as I heard this verse, I thought that God is talking about a person who exactly like me by making Jen to share the verse. Since then, I tried to change my behavior of my daily life toward him. I started to do Quite Time and pray every day. Also, I tried to participate every church activities as many as possible: Hope community center, cleaning, evangelism, and worship band. Through this experiences, I heard many stories of my friends about their testimony or daily life as a Christian. Furthermore, I took “Godly Women 1” class on the first semester of my junior year, and it also impressed me a lot. As I share my thought with other people and listen what they think, I could realize the way of being a Christian and living its life. In addition, I took “Apologetics” class on the second semester in this year, and it helped me a lot knowing why Christian is right, why God is right, how we can prove that he exists, and how can we defend our faith. Moreover, I sometimes join in prayer meeting at school on Wednesdays, and it gives me a great motivation to pray and reach out to others. After all of these experience, I decided to follow Jesus forever, so my I am planning to get a baptism on following Thanksgiving
