Jefferson Davis Characteristics

Our teacher told us that Fairfax County Public Schools is making a new middle school and that they needed some help with naming it. The person I chose to do my research on is Jefferson Davis. Jefferson Davis was born on June 3, 1808 in Christian (which is now called Todd) County, Kentucky. He was a congressman, a soldier, and eventually the president of the United States of America. I think the new middle school should have Jefferson Davis’ name because he was the president of the United States and a lot of other presidents, like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln, have schools named after them, so I think Jefferson Davis could have a school named after him, too. He was also a war hero and a congressman so I think he deserves it. One of the important choices that Jefferson Davis made is he chose to be in the army. That is important because he chose to serve his country and protect it from other countries. Another important decision that he made is that he was the first and only president during the Civil War. This is important because he wanted to be the president and he actually wanted to help and support his country. Jefferson Davis was the president of the United States, and being the president is saying that he really cares about the United States and that he try his best to will protect it.Not only was he just a regular president, but he was the one and only president during the Civil War. He was also a soldier and because of that, he was loyal to his country because he was protecting it from other counties. One thing that Jefferson Davis accomplished is being the president only during the Civil War. This must have been a lot harder than being the president at a time when there are not any
