Jeff Koons uses science to create the astonishing artworks he presents. Most artists do. However, Jeff had gone above and beyond through “One Ball Total Equilibrium Tank”. This art piece is a basketball in the middle of a tank of water. It looks simple to achieve; yet a basketball would normally float. Koons used sodium chloride reagent and distilled water to keep the ball in place. Jeff put heavy saltwater into the bottom and light freshwater at the top of the tank, making the ball retain its position.
In 1980, Jeff Koons had his first staged show at the museums storefront window on Fourteenth Street. Showing off his early series including the ‘New Hover Convertibles, Green, Blue’. As well as this, he displayed the ‘New Hover Convertibles Green, Blue Double-Decker’. This show contained pop, conceptual and craft appropriation styles.
Koons has also displayed solo shows throughout the world. Some of these include 2003 at the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli, 2004 at the Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art in Oslo, 2005 at the Helsinki City Art Museum, 2008 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and from 2008-09 at the château de Versailles in
