The sisters were so jealous of beauty when they saw her that they made a plan to convince her to stay longer so that the beast would get mad at her and kill her. Beauty stayed one week longer and when she got back she found the beast in the garden dying. Confessing her love for him, she cried over his dying body and the spell was broken he was a prince again and they lived happily ever after. Mostly all the stories were like this with minor changes but one of them was based off of a more realistic tale. Beastly was set in a highschoolers life and he he cared about were looks he got cursed with “ugliness” and the only way to break it was to have someone fall in love with him in a year. He found one girl that could actually do this, but there came a point that he had to let her go. He packed a letter to her in her bag when she was on the train she read them and it was him expressing his love for her. They found eachother again with no time to spare and she said the magical words “I love you” the spell was broken and they lived happily ever

Let me start off by saying that before reading the first stories of beauty and the best in Maria Tartar's The Classic Fairy Tales the only version that I knew was Disney's older interpretation. It has been a long time since I have seen it so I don't remember all the details. From what I can remember I can say that I enjoyed the version that I just read more compared to the Disney one. When I first started reading I could immediately tell the story was different. Beauty had Two sisters and it was her father was the one to find the castle and to discover the beast.…

Happy endings and fairy tales have become disney’s forte, but how they accomplish this is what matters. Over the years fairytales have evolved making women play many roles throughout the years, some submissive others assertive; the females in Little Snow-White and Beauty and The Beast portray these roles as reflections of the times in which they were created.
