Jean Pierre Rampal was born in Marseille, France January 7, 1922 as a child he didn’t like the flute at first and was more interested in medicine. Despite his father’s profession as a music teacher, Jean didn’t starts to become interested in the flute until he was about 13. after a while Jean graduated high school, and he went to medical for three years because his parents were pushing him to be a doctor or a surgeon. Seems they thought these professions were more reliable than a professional musician. In 1943 government of the Nazi profession of France he was drafted into forced labor in Germany. Therefore, to keep away from this he moved to Paris. While he was in Paris, Jean decided to audition to study the flute at Paris Conservatoire.
