Jean Piaget was born on August 9, 1986 in Switzerland neuchatel. The recipient of an array of honors died in Geneva Switzerland on September 16, 1980. He was the oldest child of Arthur Piaget, professor of medieval literature at the University, and of Rebecca Jackson. Piaget mother made him interested in the sciences to his own neurotic tendencies. Piaget’s father, a medieval literature, modeled a passionate dedication to his studies, which drew Piaget attention. At just 10 years old, his fascination with mollusks drew him to the local museum of natural history. At age 11 Piaget wrote a short scientific paper on the albino sparrow, ever since his papers were being widely published. After high school, Piaget went on to study zoology at the University of Neuchatel, receiving his Ph.D. in the natural sciences in 1918. During 1918, Piaget spent a semesters studying psychology under Carl Jung and Paul Eugen Bleuler. During 1919 Piaget studied abnormal psychology at the Sorbonne in Paris. Piaget wanted to know about the way children learn, which he realized that children’s power of reasoning was not flawed after all.
