Each type of therapy will work differently for each client. Knowing information about each type of therapy for this situation is important for a nurse to provide the best care and education. The Jaywalker lodge offers movement therapy, group therapy and individual therapy. Group therapy has been recognized as a very successful therapy. This type of therapy “provides psychotherapy treatment in a format where there is typically one therapist and six to twelve participants with related problems” (Herkov,2016). People that utilize this type of therapy improve from the interventions of the therapist but also by observing others and the feedback they receive. In a rehab facility, it’s important to recognize an appropriate diagnosis for each patient from the behaviors that they are presenting. Risk for injury would be a frequently used nursing diagnosis at a rehab facility. Risk factors to confirm this diagnosis is CNS agitation that leads to hallucinations, illusions and seizures from substance withdraw (Townsend,2015). Ineffective denial is another employed nursing diagnosis that would be used often. Behaviors like delaying seeking assistance, not perceiving the problem and unable to admit impact of disease on life pattern supports this diagnosis. Ineffective coping is another important nursing diagnosis to consider. Abuse of chemical agents, destructive behavior toward other and self and inability to meet basic needs are all behaviors to look for with ineffective coping (Townsend, 2015). Overall these three-nursing diagnoses would be priority diagnosis to consider, but it’s important to make sure that it is individualized for each patient. Every patient is unique and presents
