So, the leaders of the government decided to tighten and expand the military abilities. (DOC 9) As the years passed and Japanese were still facing imperialism. The Japanese had created four major arsenals, that each had their own satellite plants. As well, three shipyards under the government control, all three shipyards could help supply a modern military force in the time of need. Two of the arsenals locations were in Tokyo and Osaka, these mainly were for the Japanese armies. Tokyo arsenal had advances that others didn’t, because of the western influences this took place in 1877. These advances were to repair small arms and cannons, as will they produced explosives and simpler operated machinery for the use of Japanese. (DOC 9) With the success, Japan was having with their transformation into a modern strong military army. Numerous of the countries nearby started to take notice. When they were taking notice, China decides to challenge them. The Japanese got to show what they had off in 1894 to 1895, and in 1905-1906, when they beat China. The fight in 1894-1895 was the Sino- Japanese War. The fight in 1905-1906 was a fight over rights of Manchuria and Korea, with the war was called the Russo-Japanese War. In this war, Russia lost to Japan. After these wars, Japan started to get new visitors, Chinese reformer, and revolutionists, started to make a base for their groups in Japan.
