James Cleick’s definition essay “Life as Type A” reveals the origins of the term “Type A personality.” Cleick explains that this term was first used by two cardiologist, Mayer and Ray Roseman, who sought to determine if there was a correlation between personality type and heart attacks, these heart doctors characterized type A individuals as suffering from “Hurry Sickness”, having a sense of urgency impatience and even perfectionism , However researcher have never agreed on a reliable means of diagnosing a persons as “Type A” even hard- to define is the type B personality as that type is usually exhibited only in government workers and embalmers nevertheless, a more extensive personality assessment was developed by research physiologist Myers

my personality for this category was determine to be Judging; Judging type people are described to work best when able to plan their work and follow a plan. They tend to be tough minded and fair and prefer a more structure lifestyle. Judging type tend to make a decisions bases on fact not on feeling and feel comfortable when decisions are made. I find it interesting how this last category ties in with the previous three it goes a long with the affect one can have as the reaction to an action . I also see how much one can change from year to year mostly because I keep a journal and I am able to go back and reflect about my journey in life and how my decisions and choices have caused me to change as an overall person. I can see how it would be hard to only defined people as a “Type A “or a “Type B” personality with all of the changes that can happen in once life, you can go from working to a stay a home mom and realize that you enjoy that much more than being successful at work, or how about people that are always on the go and then go in to a depress state of mind and loos there tribe , would situation like that cause you to go from type A to Type B. I can see why maybe the cardiologist Myers and Brigs and researches have never agreed on a reliable means of diagnosing a person as “Type A” as the human mind and body is constantly changing. if Reflecting back in all information and how the Myers and Brigs test defined my characteristics of I S T J as; “Serious, quiet, earn success by concentration and thoroughness. Practical, orderly , matter-of-fact, logical, realistic, and dependable. See to it that everything is well organized. Take responsibility make up their own minds as to what should be accomplished and work toward it steadily, regardless of protests or distractions”. I would defiantly have to agree .
