It is defined as a United States federal law providing funds to states that follow a series of federal protections, known as the “core protection,” on the care and treatment of youth in the justice system. The JJDPA provides direct funding for states that follow the law for research, training and technical assistance, and evaluation. Believe it or not there is a vast amount of different types of programs currently exist. Additional effective programs are the ones that intervene before the start of the delinquent behavior and to prevent that behavior. With getting involved in the children’s lives early, than it’s possible that later crime can be effectively decreases prevention programs. This is going to positively impact all of the general public due to the fact this will help in stopping the crime in the first place. Some prevention programs have a better success rate than others. The only two programs that I researched to be the most effective when juveniles are when they are at a young age is going to be intervention and comprehensiveness which in easier terms is the visitation program and the Head Start program. These two important programs have had incredible results with them being able to targeting specific risk factors that seem to lead to delinquent
