Although he went from being a self-centered, person to opening his eyes to the reality of what was really going on around him. I have learned that everyone is going to die and no matter even if we try to hide from it sooner or later our time will come. Knowing this has changed the way I view life and those around me. Society has molded us to project that material things are more important than life. What we fail to notice is that those materialistic things we work so hard will be gone with a blink of an eye when we pass away. It’s hard as a human sometimes to realize our focus is selfish; it’s me first not thinking about someone else’s feelings. We always concentrate on what we are able to gain out of life and not what we can do to help someone else. Now knowing the things I’ve learned not only in this book but in class will hopefully help me to start thinking differently about the world around
