For example, questions about the cold formed metal framing are found in that particular segment. In is important to note the gauge of the metal studs specified for this project, as well as the mil thickness associated to the gauge. Other information given in this segment and not shown elsewhere, pertains to the lateral bracing necessary for the steel studs when the wallboard is not continuous on each side. The engineer requires the installation bridging to prevent the studs from twisting and bending.
The foundation placement is made after confirming all underground utilities have been located prior to excavating. In addition, a note requires all abandoned footings and utilities are to be removed before constructing the new footings. Furthermore, a deputy supervisor must be present when grading, backfilling and compaction activities are performed.
Even though structural steel is not a carpentry discipline, the structural steel segment lists the ASTM standards to be followed during the steel installation, in addition to the type and quality of the steel. This segment describes the high strength bolts to be used for the structural joints and the tools used to tighten these bolts correctly. Any welds made on this project must be made by certified welders as required by the governing

Due to its high strength Steel is one of the most common materials within the construction industry. The most important properties of steel are density and robustness, good tensile and yield strength, good thermal conductivity and expansion. As well as these important properties, another very important of the stainless steel properties is its resistance to corrode. Steel is often used in the form of beams, columns and plates. Within the construction site steel played a huge part in the development of the project, having several different uses for this…

The cement, shoe and 14m of formation was drilled for FIT. Upon completion of the FIT, the section was drilled from 3,857m to 4,990m when a trip was made to the shoe, to allow some rig repairs to be done. Formation pressure was acquired during the trip to the shoe. After some rig maintenance work at the casing shoe, the BHA was tripped back in hole to bottom. Drilling then resumed from 4,990m to 5,988m where further formation pressure points were taken.…

The border and the constructions inside it are not symmetrical; the four arms of the cruciform are skewed and stretched. This indicates that the outline of the addition is responding to inner and outer forces. For example, the northernmost spar is widened and its end bows outwards to form the large lecture hall and library within. However, this does not simply mean that this section of the building fits O’Gorman’s generalizations for additive buildings. The other three arms show the divisive method where office spaces are divided.…

The blast wave generating device developed for this project consists of two sections that are equivalent in cross sectional area to the expansion section channel of the shock tube; the front section has internal damper blades that rotate from a vertical position to a horizontal position, and the rear section is equipped with internal flow straighteners. The device is to be placed in series between the expansion section and the expansion section channel, and bolted together with the flanges of these two sections. The main operation of this device works by producing a shock wave from the bursting of a diaphragm from the driver section, which travels down the shock tube through the expansion section, and into the device. The wave hits the damper…

As the lifting was carried out under a limited space I instructed that the contractor may propose an alternative method of lifting before work could be carried out, if they have a different way of carrying out the work safely. The contractor was requested to supply the capacity of the lifting equipment’s that will be used. I also insisted that adequate lifting chain should be installed to ensure that the beams are stable during the lifting process.…
