There are many interesting things about Italy. Like The Bronze and Iron Age. The Bubonic plague also known as The Black Death started in Italy, The Renaissance of the arts, When Italy became one, Modern Italy, The geography of Italy, and The Economy of Italy.
In the early second millennium B.C. Italy was in the Bronze Age. The Bronze Age is for studying prehistoric societies practically the ancient societies. During the Bronze Age a cultural pattern had already formed. Most of the people that lived in Italy at the time were the Mycenaeans, Phoenicians, and Greeks. They migrated west by ship via the Mediterranean Sea. In the second millennium B.C. the Latin’s migrated through the passes in the Alps to settle in primitive farming villages. When people died there was a hole dug for bodies and they were thrown in that hole. Once there were several bodies there was dirt thrown in on top of them. That process was done several times before digging another hole. The Bubonic Plague was spread by small rodents like rats (The Black Death the Greatest Catastrophe).
The Renaissance started in Italy. This was a time of ideas, learning, and growth in the arts. During this time famous paintings, buildings, inventions and sculptures were invented. During the Renaissance different parts of Italy were controlled by two different rulers (Sarah Tieck pg.14). In 1870 the two parts became one. Benito Mussolini became the only leader of Italy. Benito Mussolini believed in fascism. In 1943 Italy got tied up in World War II, on Germany’s side. In 1943 Italy gave up and went against Germany. In 1945 Benito Mussolini was killed.
