Before we discuss any issues related to torture, we first need to understand the meaning of torture. After we thoroughly understand what torture is, we ought to ask questions like: Is torture morally just under any circumstance? Under what circumstances should torture be morally just, if at all? And if torture is just, how much torture is morally just under given circumstance? Should torture be legalized or institutionalized?
