In the play “Macbeth”, Lady Macbeth was just as guilty of the King’s death as her husband. Lady Macbeth was the one who urges her husband to kill Duncan. Macbeth is only contemplating killing Duncan until Lady Macbeth convinces him to do it by taunting him, “When you durst do it, then you were a man. And to be more than what you were, you would Be so much more the man.” ( Ⅰ.vii.49-51). She questions his manhood and emasculates him by saying a real man would kill Duncan and if he were one he would do it. If Lady Macbeth had not persuaded Macbeth to kill Duncan he might not have. Macbeth did not reveal to her his thoughts on killing Duncan, she comes up with it all on her own. She is also just as guilty as Macbeth because she asked evil spirits
