Main fact one: The Iroquois clans joined together and were stronger against their enemies.
Evidence: The Great Law of Peace established an alliance among the Nations of the Iroquois Confederacy. An alliance is an agreement among nations to support each other.
The alliance that was made ended the war between the nations and made them stronger against their enemies.
Main fact two: Each person in the nation had a role and no one was left out.

Then, they would pass on their decision to the clan mothers who would debate and come to a consensus then they would pass on their decision to the Council of Chiefs who would repeat this process. Then they would pass on their decision to the Grand Council where all of the chiefs would meet they would then debate the issue or proposal and then when they had consensus, they would announce their decision.
Relation to ancient Athens:
Unlike ancient Athens, the Iroquois cared more about their women. In Athens, women were not deemed important, they couldn't do a lot of things and vote. In the Iroquois however, the women could choose the chiefs and they had a say in the Confederacy. The Iroquois were guided by the will of the people, unlike Athens.

When Hiawatha, the peacemaker, and Jigonsaseh joined all the nations together. They were all in peace even though they were enemies, they knew they could be friends. When I was with someone who teased me. I suggested should we be friends. She knew it would not work out until we spent lots of time together. After a while, we were best friends and she stopped teasing others
