These three components work in tandem to create the defense sector as a whole. This triangle contains all of the people who will make the key decisions within the next 5-10 years. Defense-related companies already have a huge sway in the political decisions that are made because a lot of their members have previously held high positions in the government and in the military. The need for national defense will cause the emergence of more people who have a sway in the national defense politics. Some of these people will enter the political arena after they are done working for their defense related company. This creates lobbyists who become very powerful motivators in the decisions of the nation. Lobbyists are some of the most important people in politics because they have the experience necessary to command their position but they are also extremely focused to push one particular agenda towards Congress. The problem with lobbyists is that they usually do not go away very easily so there are particular interests that have the possibility to be around for a long time. Also these lobbyists are not “rent free” and they tend to run according to their own time, not paying other people’s needs and wants much mind unless it benefits them. What these lobbyists are really aiming to do is to create a strong relationship between the defense contractors and Congress.
