Involuntary Manslaughter Research Paper

Earlier this year, a young lady by the name of Michelle Carter was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of her boyfriend, Conrad Roy. Michelle is 20 years old, and a resident of Massachusetts. She was sentenced to 15 months incarceration. That being said, this case is anything but typical. Mr. Roy committed suicide. Conrad killed himself, however Michelle was charged because authorities found several text conversations between the two in which Miss Carter continuously encouraged her then beaux to follow through with the unthinkable act. The justice system found her liable for his death and I think the most relevant question here is, is she actually responsible here? In other words, should those who convey thoughts or opinions to another person, through any available vehicle be held legally responsible for what happens in response to those ideas? First, it would be wise to thoroughly evaluate the law in Massachusetts. What is involuntary manslaughter according to the justice system, specifically in that part of the country?
