Brazil and Japan contain many differences and similarities with one another. Japan is considered a developed nation while Brazil is considered a developing world. Despite having different governments, economies, bordering nations, languages, etc., the communication system in both regions compare in that Internet has had an enormous growth in both regions, with 139 million Internet users in Brazil and 115 million in Japan. Japan has a parliamentary government with a constitutional monarchy. The chief of state is Emperor Akihito and the head of government is Prime Minister Shinzo Abe as of December 26, 2012. In terms of education, literacy is substantially high in Brazil and Japan. In Japan, literacy is 99% for males and females, ages 15 and over. The school life expectancy is a total of 15 years for male and female. Not far behind, Brazil has a literacy rate of 88.6% for people of ages 15 and over, but for males, literacy is 88.4% and for women, literacy is 88%. The school life expectancy in Brazil is 14 years total for both male and female (CIA Fact book). These particular results depict the accessibility of education in Japan and Brazil.
