An inheritance disorder also known as genetic disorder, is an inherited medical condition caused by a DNA abnormality. Sometimes physicians are not able to label a disease, because it is unknown, and so they call it an undiagnosed disorder. These disorders vary from all sorts of genetic genes from your siblings. Genetic disorders can be caused by a mutation by one gene, multiple genes, or by the combinations of gene and environmental factors. Some disorders are inherited by a parent or are present at birth, but as mentioned previously, sometimes these disorders are not caused by inheritance but by the environment you find yourself in because of the career that exposes you to these hazards. Many of these diseases are still under intensive check to try and find out a solution with those affected by the disease. There are four …show more content…
This mainly happens due to a problem with cell division, and because chromosomes are the carriers of the genetic material, abnormalities in chromosome number or structure can result in disease. The most known disorder under this type of inheritance disease is Down Syndrome. Down Syndrome occurs when a person has three copies of chromosome 21. Mitochondrial inheritance is a type of genetic disorder caused by mutations in the non-nuclear DNA of mitochondria, which are small rounded organelles involved in cellular respiration. Since egg cells, but not sperm cells, keep their mitochondria during fertilization, mitochondrial DNA is always inherited from the female parent. An example of this type of inheritance disorder is an eye disease called Leber’s hereditary optic atrophy, and also a type of epilepsy, called MERRF. These are just some of the types of inherited disorders, but there are so many more disorders not yet discovered, or some disorders that are pending to have a solution

Some diseases are caused by a genetic mutation, or permanent change in one or more specific genes. (NIOA, 2015) If somebody inherits a genetic mutation from a parent that will cause a specific disease or disorder, then that person, he or she, will usually end up getting the disease as well. Alzheimer’s disease is an example of an inherited genetic disorder along with many others. Getting Alzheimer’s disease is not something such as a cold, it lasts with you as you get older. Also, it is not a disease you can get from a friend or from being around the person that already has the Alzheimer's disease.…
