Skin Cancer Skin cancer is cancer cause from sun's ultraviolet rays when you are exposed to them too much. Skin cancer is the abnormal growth of skin cells. Also don't be tricked you can get skin cancer on areas of the body not exposed to the sun, and no skin color does not change if you can get this type of cancer or not. There are 3 main types of skin cancer but also 5 other kinds that are rare and cause only 1% of all skin cancer with the 5 combined. Basal, squamous, and melanomas cell cancer are the 3 main skin cancers. As I said before the main cause of getting skin cancer is too much exposure of the sun's ultraviolet rays. The main areas of skin cancer is the scalp, face, lips, ears, neck, chest, arms and hands, and on legs of women but also you get it on unexposed areas of the skin as palms, beneath your fingernails or toenails, and genital area. Symptoms of basal cell carcinoma is pearly or waxy bumps, and flat, flesh-colored or brown scar like lesions. In squamous cell carcinoma the symptoms are firm, red nodule, and a flat lesion with scaly, crusted surface. 97% of patients with the first stage of skin cancer survive the first 5 years and 95% survive 10 years which are good odds but that is just the first stage. Yet in the final stage the survival rate is 15% - 20% for 5 years but for 10 years it's 10% to 15%. The best thing to do is as soon as you see something weird on your skin then go to the doctors and have them check it out. Fast you see it fast you can get rid of it and easier it will be.
