Today we are going to be learning about the Northern Lights. What we will be covering today Is...The how the Northern lights were created, Science behind them, The discovery of the Northern lights.
According to Discovering the Arctic, The Northern Lights were discovered by Galileo Galilei in the 17th century. The names ties two of the most famous nations together. The roman name Aurora stood for their goddess of Dawn and the Greek name Borealis stood for the north wind. Mr. Galilei thought the Northern Lights were created by sunlight hitting the Earth’s atmosphere. But we later found out the it way caused by the magnetic field and the particles of the sun.
