INTRODUCTION: STROKE.
A stroke happens when an artery in the brain gets blocked or starts to leak causing cells around the area to die due to lack of oxygen. This situation arose when some part of the brain is not functioning properly.
There are two types of stroke:
• Ischemic stroke, which occurs due to lack of blood flowing in the brain. and
• Hemorrhagic stroke, which happens due to bleeding.
When this happens, a person feels numb and confused, the person may encounter trouble speaking and even seeing. If a stroke remains untreated it can result to long-term disability. About 6.2 million deaths were reported worldwide in 2015 caused by stroke.

DIAGNOSIS.
Certain things need to be considered in order to diagnose a stroke. Your GP has to know which type of signs and symptoms you have and what type of stroke it is, which part of the brain it affected. And a person’s medical records have to be checked such as high blood pressure. Whether the person smokes or have any family history of stroke, these people tend to have a high risk of stroke. The doctor also checks for signs of Carotid Artery Disease because it is a common cause of Ischemic stroke. The doctor then recommends treatments for it.
Diagnosing stroke can be used by conducting test, or Medical procedures such as:
I. Brain Computed Tomography- which is a CT scan that uses X-ray to take clear pictures of the brain.
II. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)- uses a magnetic and radio waves to make pictures of structures and organs of the body. This helps to find any change in the brain tissue and detect any damage caused by smoke.
Other Medical Procedures are used such as Carotid Ultrasound, Electrocardiogram and Echocardiogram for testing the
