Keeping your audience in mind is always important when you’re writing. After all, they are the people reading it so making sure they understand the material is a key component. There are two ways to write, informal and formal. You would only use one depending on the paper and the audience. For example, when writing a letter to a college professor, you would want to write it formally. But if you’re sending a text message to a close friend, writing it formally would sound silly. Naturally writing a text to a friend would be informal. Text messaging is a really informal thing. People use emoji’s and abbreviations. Words are typically not spelled correctly and sentences barely exist. The word ‘You’ is ‘U’ and the phrase ‘talk to you later’ is ‘TTYL’.
