Those who live in the village do not question the horrifying stories they are told of monsters that live within the woods that surround them. The Elders, who had ultimately thought of all of these stories to deceive the unknowing villagers, had used these warnings to keep the inhabitants within the boundaries of where they are coveted to stay. No one feels much apprehension and uncertainty when they are cautioned. They utilize the lies they are told and go with it, not being able to identify what is real and what is made up.
