Aggressiveness is a behavioral trait where a person is unreasonably hostile towards others, often in an attempt to dominate and intimate those around them. The Buss-Petty Aggression Scale breaks up aggression into four categories: physical aggression, verbal aggression, anger, and hostility. While the conceptual definition did not specify different types of aggression, it did highlight hostility and allowed for intimidating or hostile ‘actions’ in a general sense. The conceptual definition further highlighted aggression as feelings and actions that arise due to or in interaction with other people. The Buss-Petty Aggression Scale questions seem to focus on the same interpersonal interactions a great deal.…

The goal of the study conducted was to determine whether DRO or DRA was more effective for decreasing unwanted, problem behaviors that were occurring with four students within a classroom setting. Each student had been referred to a behavioral professional for assessment and intervention purposes due to causing verbal disruption in their classroom. Behaviors exhibited included swearing, making odd noises with their mouths and teeth, along with talking to their peers at inappropriate times, and humming. The importance of decreasing these behaviors was to allow the teacher to spend less time prompting the correct behaviors, and more time engaging in educational activities with the class. These behaviors not only were disruptive, they also had a tendency to serve as the antecedent for other behaviors to occur with others students in the…

The following Antecedent-Behavior-Consequences (ABC) Chart has been prepared for Jackson K. Direct observation was done during his Integrated Algebra 1A class to complete the ABC chart. The purpose was to identify “environmental and contextual variables that support challenging behavior” (Chandler and Dahlquist, 70). There are some consequences that are often related to appropriate and challenging behaviors, some desirable and others not. Unfortunately, oftentimes students that engage in challenging behaviors are removed from the learning environment. This is not helpful because the function of this behavior is avoidance and so the behavior is successful from the student’s perspective.…
