In regards to the French and Indian War, the man says, “How does King George repay me? By cutting off my other leg with taxes!” The man was angry at King George for taxing the colonists after the French and Indian War because the colonists thought they didn’t deserve to be treated like that. The colonists would hold protests to convince people why they should become Patriots and rant about Britain. The British started taxing the colonies after the French and Indian War because they were now in debt and needed to raise more money. The colonists were angry at the British because they were taxing them without their permission and they thought they didn’t deserve to be taxed after all the colonies had done for them during the French and Indian War. This is an accurate portrayal because in both the movie and in the war they publicly ranted about Britain. The movie showed them as angry at Britain for taxing them without letting the colonies vote on it
