Education System
The education system is setting students up to fail and creating more dropouts. Agreeing and disagreeing sides both feel the need of change in the public education system. In ?Waiting for Superman? by Davis Guggenheim, ?Why Johnny Can?t Fail? by Jerry Jesness and ?Against Schools? by John Taylor Gatto, they all come to the agreement the education system is failing the students and creating more dropouts. Not everyone disputes the education system is failing the students, however, experts part way when they find the education system can be better for the students. As some may or may not know the ten contact is what kept most bad teachers their jobs, however they taught, they were still protected by the contact. That goes to say the system already failed the students. In addition to teacher methods, ?Against School?, students find school boring says John Taylor Gatto. He was a teacher for years and said he became an expert at boredom. If you ask student why they don?t like school, most would say because it?s boring. ?The obligation to amuse and instruct myself was entirely my own?, says Gatto. Teaching is however you make it out to be not what?s stereotyped it to be. Also I would like to randomly like to add an example of the movie ?Freedom Writers? story by Erin Gruwell. Talk about good teachers, teacher that went to any means necessary to see her kids become something in life other than what they had going for themselves before she came. She showed the students that she cared about teaching when no other teachers could teach them. The system didn?t fail the students because the teacher never fail them, or giving up on them like most did. Leaving that to say not only it?s the education system but also the teachers.
