“So” he started, fiddling with a piece of string in his hands “where are your mentors?” he asked.
“Lost him in a fire in Baltimore after the Larks crashed our safe house” Logan answered with a sad smile “Lonnie picked me up from there, its how I found out Ellie was playing with them as well”
Bryce nodded and waited patiently for him to stop speaking “betrayal” he sighed “Elizabeth fell in love with a man who sold us out to the Larks for 500k, they killed her before I could blink and all I could do was run” he paused

He’s my best friend, brother, whatever else you want to call it” Allen smiled fondly, nodding as the other two boys smiled back.
“We should get to bed” Logan offered “Hector said we need to start teaching Phoenix our powers tomorrow we’re going to need our rest”
Allen nodded and watched as they walked into their respective rooms before he walked through the hallways, looking for his shared quarters with Phoenix and Carter. Smiling at the impressive blue light that radiated from his hand, lighting up all 14 of the doors at one and snickering when the young Lark called out for him to turn his hands off. He peaked into Anna’s room as he snuck past, smiling to himself when he heard her snore loudly.
“Gross” he chuckled before closing the door softly and opening his own, his smile widening as he seen Phoenix with his head on Carter’s bare chest and Carter’s arm protectively around his waist. “they’re going to give me cavities” he muttered as he climbed into his own bunk. “I’m Detective Grey and this is Dr. Kathryn Bohemian. I want to start off to let you guys know that you aren't in any trouble, we just need some information on your friend Christian.” She studied the group in front of her: Hailey Trooper, Becky Rimes, Celina Moore, Tristan Reese, and an older woman whom she presumed to be Tristian’s mother. She studied the teens, Hailey and Celina both had short brown hair and braces, and the glimmer in their brown eyes reminded Heather of her wild and reckless days. If Heather hadn’t done her homework, she would've assumed that Becky and Tristan were twins.…

Dawn broke to an explosion of bird songs, the cacophony starting Booker awake with a disgruntled groan. Unimpressed by the early morning alarm clock, he angrily pulled his pillow over his head and attempted to drown out the noise. However, the humorous fact that the sound easily penetrated through the downy feathers brought a good-natured smile to his lips, and with a resigned sigh, he threw the pillow onto the floor and sat up. From across the room, Tom yawned loudly, a sleepy smile spreading across his face.…

There are many places I hold dear to my heart such as traveling to the mountains, visiting my grandma or going down to the Russian River and swimming in the freezing green river. But one particular place that stands out in my memory is Mount Shastina. We have gone to Mount Shastina during times of snow and during times of intense heat, which has exposed me to different activities that depend upon the climate. I have been going there, to McCloud, which is North of Mt. Shasta, with my family for as long as I can remember. In the center of a desert lies our rustic cabin with 3 bedrooms and a nice fireplace to keep us warm.…

Eli melted into the shadows as he slid along the side of the building. He’d tracked Logan all the way to Buenos Aries and sensed the archangel had been hiding out inside one of the many shanties, which made up the run down part of what locals called, villas miserias. Though this wasn’t the worst place he’d ever seen, he was still disgusted that people would allow their fellow humans to live in such squalor. However, these poor living conditions attracted many of the fallen. They thrived on misery.…

"So this is White Pines," my nephew grinned, his dark brown eyes darted here and there as he took in the scene before him. "This is it," I answered, wishing I could crawl inside his head and see his first impressions of our simple mountain home. Deep inside I believed curiosity had been the impetus behind my nephew's visit. Had we lived a "normal" life, I'm not so sure he would have ever made the trip, especially by himself. We felt honored that my nephew had come all the way across the country for a visit and intended on giving him exactly what he'd requested: an authentic, "White Pines" experience, crazy or not.…

I just got done with my shift to protect Camp Half-Blood feeling very tired and stressed. With the camp’s protection being down and most of the campers going back to their families for the summer, this meant that there were very few of us to guard our safe haven. Not to mention I was still recovering from my broken ankle. I decided to take a walk down to the beach near the camp. Lately, I’ve found the sound of crashing waves, wind brushing through my hair, and the slight smell of salt hitting my face very soothing ever since I had met my best friend, Percy Jackson.…

It had been just about three months since the walls first went up. The government thought that they would contain the virus, and keep those who were infected trapped inside and calm, but it only did the opposite. The infected didn't stay calm, they got angry, and the angrier they became, the stronger they became (or at least those who survived the infection). The infection seemed to affect everyone differently. Sometimes it would leave them dead in a matter of days, but sometimes, sometimes it would leave its victims different than they were before.…

I stood in the back corner and watched as the four boys, all barely men, who entered after me took their seats directly in front of Zero’s desk, I made no motion to sit down and Zero continued with his debrief. “You four,” he addresses them and gestured with his hand, “will be joined by Agent -“ “Seven,” I cut him off before he can say something else, he looks at me amused, as did the boys, however, more so with suspicion, I ignored them all. “May I ask why we are gaining a team member, Sir?”…
