What is an author trying to tell you when he writes a story? Is he trying to show a piece of his past and show you where he came from? I think the answer to that is a two part one. I’m saying that it’s a yes and no answer. I say yes because when you write a lot of time people will start writing what they know, what they know might be heart ach are pain. No because sometime a writer might just start writing from what they think. I think writing can be many things. We just have to read and see if we can figure it out.

by Eudora Welty. The character that I want to talk about is Sister from the story. I think that the actions taken by sister to reveal her true nature are one of jealousy, abandonment and hurt. I think when you look at jealousy it hits you right at the beginning of the story. Her younger sister comes back and automatically people treat her sister like a princesses and Sister like a lying when she brings up important question. Ones of who is this little girl and I don’t think she is adopted. How her mom sides with her younger sister I think hurt sister very much and gives us that hurt feeling. When Stella-Rondo turns the whole house against sister you can feel the hurt at the end of the story when she decides to move in the Post Office. you see how it moves very fast. I think the last scene gives you an insight to our character. With sister getting all her belongs and moving into the Post Office gives you the feeling she is tired of not being appreciated. I think the dialogue in the story gives you a lot. When sister tells her mother “Mama,” I says, “can that child talk?”” she is basically calling Stella-Rondo a lier about the baby being adopted. I would also like to add it shows her hurt from her family taking everything that Stella-Rondo tells them as gold. I think the next thing that sister tells us how much she hates Stella-Rondo from taken her man. “He left her—you mark my words,” I say. “That’s Mr. Whitaker. I know Mr. Whitaker. After all, I knew him first. I said from the beginning he’d up and leave her. I foretold every single thing that’s happened” I think that she says this with glee because she is happy that her sister marriage has failed and she never gave her for stealing him from
