In-Class Support

One option is an In-Class support program. This option leaves the student in the general classroom all day but brings outside help in during certain periods to help the student. Judith Wiener and Christine Tardiff discuss the option in the article “social and Emotional Functioning of Children with Learning Disabilities: Does Special Education Placement Make a Difference?” where they explain that this option provides them “with assistance from a special education teacher who comes into the general education classroom for up to 90 minutes per day” (22) and lets the student worth with the rest of the class for the remainder of the day. With In-Class Support, the child is involved and interacting with general education students the whole school
