Also I have been interested in other cultures and their traditions, therefore, I believe that being able to work in a center that provides a place for students with various backgrounds will further and enhance my learning of other culture as well as my own culture. Furthermore, I will contribute my knowledge and skills to work within APARC. I will bring in my organization, communication, and teamwork abilities. I am able to work well with others, but quite competent in working by myself. I have the willingness and self-motivation to go above and beyond on any tasks assigned to me. In addition, I am the Association of Intercultural Awareness (AICA) representative for the Cambodian Student Association next year, therefore, I will be able to establish and build a strong relationship with AICA in order to assist in implementing and supporting correlated programs. In my previous experiences as a volunteer, I was taught to work well with others and be able to engage in discussions. My current job as an engineering intern back at home has prepared me to take on new and greater challenges and responsibilities, such as I am able to meet deadlines and challenge myself to go above and beyond of every task. This is the reason as to why I want to take on this position in order to challenge and develop myself even further. My current job has also prepared me to plan and organize events. I was delegated with the task to put on a robotic and machinery event for middle school children. I had to communicate with the school’s staffs and advertise to the students. I was also given a desk job where I am able to assist customers. I also work well with technology, such as using certain software, specifically Microsoft and Adobe Photoshop. Furthermore, the Identity Development position is looking for someone to be able to organize workshops.
