One of the reasons I wanted to attend a large college, was because of the opportunity to meet people from various places, who have different cultures from mine, so that I could learn from them and become a better person. I think that in order to become a more accepting society it is important to learn as much as possible from others, to ‘put ourselves in other people’s shoes’. If I become a part of the Mozaiko community, I hope to experience a diverse environment in which I can learn from my peers and improve my ability to think objectively and from various perspectives. Throughout this course I have gained more of an appreciation for artwork and the artists that create them. I have also gained an appreciation for the people that try to define what art is in general or more specifically what makes good art. We have read great thinkers and their philosophies on this, and the fact that even people of such great intelligence can disagree on the subject proves how challenging it can be.
