On the first day, we also had a student who had to be forcefully removed from the classroom. The teacher told the students that it was time to put away their mats after rest time. However, one of the students was not putting his mat away. The teacher then went over to the child and gave him a choice. She said, “You can either put your mat away, and stay in our classroom and have fun, or you can continue to not follow the rules and we will have to call your other teacher.” When he was not doing what she said then she said “I will give you to the count of D to put your mat away.” “A, B, C, D” The little boy did not put his mat away and got more frustrated so he started to kick the table and that is when the teacher quietly got on the phone, made a call, and got the little boy removed from the classroom for about an hour. When he came back he was much better. The kindergarteners are starting to gain an idea of all of the classroom rules. You can tell because whenever anyone breaks one of the rules there is always a little kid making sure that you notice it. This is good however, because it means that the students understand the classroom rules, and are trying to follow
