The Importance Of Writing In My English Class

Throughout the course of my middle school, high school, and now college career, I have learned numerous techniques and strategies in regard to writing. Some techniques I have found helpful to my writing and others that have pushed me to do things I would not ordinarily do. With this process, I had the pleasure of succeeding with flying colors. I have come leaps in bounds from an innocent and inexperienced adolescent in grade six, to a mature, well-equipped writer in grade eleven. Therefore, from this upper level English class, I have learned a different caliber of writing and writing techniques. I have learned how to better prepare for different types of essays. The writings required for this class have varied from informative to persuasive essays. From personal experience, my strength lies in persuasive essays. Although these methods required more time and effort, I found that y using the two I received better grades on my assignments. The writings that were mandated in this course helped me not only grow as a writer, but it helped me better understand time management. I was able to express myself in several works and inform readers in the others. Overall, I enjoyed the argumentative and persuasive pieces the best. These writings accented my strong points because I had the ability to push my voice through the factual evidence. The creative pieces challenged me; therefore, I am thankful for them. Though I consider myself to be weaker in that particular area, pieces that require me thinking outside the box were extremely beneficial to me and my growth as a writer.
