My childhood was less than ideal, with divorced parents, and siblings who were not always the greatest role models. My non-existent relationship with both my mother and father lead me to difficulties emotionally. Even after I returned to the states, a man on social media from India contacted me about visiting there someday. This only fueled my passion for wanting to help others. I decided that I wanted to become a medical missionary. I have thought long and hard about what that meant for me. There have been, and continue to be, obstacles that I face.
