Importance Of Moral Education For Teenagers

Morality is very important in teenagers live. For teenagers, it must be shown in their life. But, of course, it is so easy. It must be learnt and practiced everytime. Moral education can be taught anywhere and anytime since they were born or they were childhood. They can also learn it in family and at school. But there are still many disorders about it. As example in reality, they still have case about teenage becoming impolite towards their teachers. Sometimes they disobey parents’ orders. We can conclude here that moral education for teenagers still needs improvements. Everyone have an original characteristic since they are very young. But when they have grown up until they are teenagers, special character of someone starts to appear and be prominent. Character is really helpful for teenagers when they were in public places. It is used to make friends with other teenagers. Opinion from Simon Philips in his book that have name “Refleksi Karakter Bangsa” (2008:235), characteristic is a collection of of value lead to a system , that provide the basis of thought , attitude , and behavior that displayed. Another opinion come from Koesoema A (2007:80) in Muslich (2011:70), he argue that character same with personality. And Prof. Suyanto, Ph.D argue that character is ways of thinking and behaving which is typical of individuals to live and cooperate good in scope family, the community, the nation and the country. Bullying still happens at school and colleges. Sometimes teachers and the authorities in charge still have no power to solve the case. Bullying occurs because teenagers are lack of moral education and wrong friendship. If teenagers get moral education since they are still very young, like when they are in kindergarten age, it is expected that bullying can be avoided or at least minimized. The research form Universitas Al Azhar Indonesia about bullying in SMA Negeri 70 Jakarta,the research results show that violence do happen in SMA Negeri70, where violence physical and verbal are more prevalent in male students, as cut, struck, and kicked each other, while the female students’ usually doing some verbal violence such as shouting each other.Bullying is form of violence act with traits; devoted to harm anyone , and to show power possessed senior on junior .The form of bullying that they experienced is intimidation. In addition, students had a situation that confuse between choose follow the values of that which is embraced peer-group or school.
