Knowing the importance of evidence based practice in the nursing profession; various guidelines has been established in King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre with a systematic of review of the literature, critical clinical appraisals and expert opinion which provides the supporting evidence. One of such kind of guidelines was generated for the management of hypertension in CKD patients. Hypertension is one of the conditions for which guidelines generated by different organizations and hospital and sometimes offers disagreeing recommendations because different values of reading may be measured. Evidence Based Practice in nursing is using and carrying out nursing practise based on the best available knowledge. Integrates the nurses clinical expertise with the best external research evidence and takes into account patient preferences in order to deliver quality nursing care. A nursing practise environment founded in evidence based practise is an essential component of a magnet instruction .Evidence based practise ensures that the best in current nursing care is given to patients and families .Research findings have shown that patients who receive care experience better outcomes. The question that faces proponents of EBP is whether there are enough high-quality studies so that evidence-based decisions can be made. There are still many decisions that are made that are not based on good evidence. Professionals must remember that when they make decisions for which little or no evidence exists, they should exercise caution and perhaps be even more vigilant in monitoring outcomes. In addition to the need for evidence, EBP requires that professionals be trained in the skills necessary to find and critically use evidence.
