It will make me powerful because nobody can ever take knowledge away from me. That is the only thing I can keep with me until I die. The college degree will provide me with enough power to continue with my career, and I would be able to transfer to UM (University of Miami) and be a doctor. MDC programs consist of a well thought-out series of interrelated courses designed to provide me with rigorous and relevant academic content that will allow me to move forward with my education and enhance my ability to succeed. Growing into a doctor it’s not easy. It requires many years of study, eight to be exact, but I’m sure MDC (Miami Dade College) will prepare me for the fight against every obstacle during my career. The time I am going to take to finish my career is nothing compared to what I’m going to be capable of doing at the end of the journey, save lives and bring happiness to many families. Before the discovery of modern medicine, life was fleeting for humans. The environment was replete with unseen dangers in the form of disease and medical conditions. Then medical practice changed into an organized profession, and humans experienced a significant improvement in the quality of life. My work will consist on providing care for the community, and just thinking about it makes me feel joy. My dad is a truck driver and he leaves home for a long time, yet when he comes back it is only a week that he spends with me. My heart breaks every time my dad leaves home to drive his truck for a moth long to make enough money to maintain the family; however it is never enough, and there is always one more debt. My father has missed lots of birthdays and especial dates because of work. Even his birthday, he spent it driving. He has gained a lot of weight due to the lack of physical activities, there is not much you can do inside a truck. He suffers from cardiac problems and his blood sugar is always high. My dad is not happy, neither is my mom, and is very sad to look at them and see them worried all day long. I want to take my dad out of the trucks, and I want to give him a life where he can stay home and enjoy his days with the family without worrying about the house, the electricity, the cable, the car payment, the credit cards or the school loan. College is just a small step to accomplish my goal, but I’m doing this for my family and their happiness. They gave up everything they had to come to the United Sates for my future. I am not going to take for granted their effort and sacrifices. If I study very hard and I grow into a doctor they will be proud of me and I will be able to take them out of that stressful life. Everything depends on me and my education. It is too much
