Kenya was named after Mount Kenya, which is the second highest mountain in Africa, after Kilimanjaro. Diving in Kenya is only available in Mombasa coastline along the Indian Ocean. Mombasa Airport is on the mainland, but the town of Mombasa is across a bridge on an island. The following diving locations are found along the Indian Ocean:
Mwanyaza North
Mwayanza North is located in Diani Beach, Mombasa County. It’s an exciting diving site of marine biology, this site is hard to find, but it’s accessible by boat. The following are its characteristics:

Waa Wreck
Waa wreck is situated on Diani Beach, 15- minute boat ride. The ship known as The H.M.S. Hildasay, Sunk on June 21st, 1945 forming a wooden lying at 22 metres, close to the Waa coral at the bottom. However, the wreck itself is not wildly interesting but the coral that has covered the entire wreck in an abnormal way. The following are its characteristics:
Direction: Access by boat.
Depth: 24 m.
Visibility: Good (5-30) m.
Cave: No.
Night Dive: Yes
Free: No
Fish and Animals: Whale Sharks, Reef Sharks, Dolphins, Manta Rays and Reef fish.
Temperature: 25-30°C.
What to see: Wrecks and Reefs.

Maftaha

An outcropping from the main fringing reef, Maftaha is a small island situated in Diani. It’s one of the beautiful dive sites with abundant fish, surrounded by Open Ocean on three sides yet it’s shallow. It features the following:

Direction: Access by boat
Depth: (10-18) m
Visibility: Good (10-30) m
Cave: No
Night Dive: Yes
Free: No
Fish and Animals: Whale Sharks and Manta Rays
Temperature: 29 °C
What to see: Coral Umbilical cord.

Mwanamochi

Mwanamochi is situated in Diani Beach; it’s covered by different types of coral reefs on the slope. The slope is so smooth and extensive such that you will find very many small fish. It features the following:
