“Critical thinking skills are essential to success in life, period” (Lisa and Kent Hoeffner). In every people lives there are problems, but the strategies that they use are different. According to “Peak Performance,” the author, Sharon K. Ferrett, define problem-solving steps and critical thinking and problem-solving strategies. First, the author talks about the problem-solving steps which are defining the problem, gathering and interpreting information, developing and implementing a plan of action, and evaluating the plan. Second, she illustrates the seven critical thinking and problem-solving strategies: have a positive attitude, ask a questions, persistence pays off, use creativity, pay attention to details, see all sides of issue, and use …show more content…
Patience is a core step to gather all information about cyber security and radiology. “You won’t solve every problem with your first effort” (Peak Performance, Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Strategies). When I ask people how is working or the steps that they used to graduate, they might exhaust and not give the right information. For example, Sadiq, who is a cyber-security, gave me info once, but now he does not answer his phone. Therefore, to get adequate information, I need to patience and call Sadiq again and again or find someone who is a cyber-security.
After I gather sufficient information, using the strategy to develop and implement is another important step before I choose a major. I have to make a plan how to apply that info I gather to find out how it works. Also, I need to revise all information carefully before conclusion. “Effective problem solvers do not jump to conclusion. Inductive reasoning is generalizing from specific concepts to broad principles” (P.P Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving

I will ask myself why is cyber-security or radiology is best for me. Also, asking myself what consequences will have the major that I choose will help me to avoid wasting my time and money. “Effective problem check their inferences to see if they are sound, not based on assumptions, which often reflect their own experiences and biases” (P.P Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Strategies). If I do not evaluate my plan it might lead me to take a course that no need for my major. In addition, I need to decide which course I should take as soon as possible to avoid paying for unwanted
