Being declared the Vice President of the Communication’s department’s Lambda Pi Eta this past Fall was not only an honor but an amazing opportunity. A part of being inducted into the Lambda Pi Eta’s honor society included giving a speech to the rest of the society’s members, as well as the department’s dean and professors. During this speech I included how I came to the decision that I wanted to become a Journalism major as well as what events occurred that lead me to this decision. During a news broadcast I am able to talk about all of the events going on on campus, as well as stories that I may propose to the club’s leading professor to approve. Although the stories that I cover are not hard hitting nor am I viewed by many, just local broadcast watchers, being a part of ECTV is a wonderful learning and practicing opportunity for becoming a better aspiring news anchor.
