Why Critical Thinking Is Important

In today’s society, change can come from anywhere and everywhere. Just the slightest change of an event can affect many peoples life’s in many ways. Becoming the pebble does not mean you have to accomplish your dream, be successful, or impress society in a way people want see from their perspective how others should be or act out. The pebble is never right nor wrong but comes in all shapes and sizes, the pebble coms from many different cultures, community’s, countries and religions. How can I be a pebble to change? Why are critical thinking skills so important to this endeavor? How does the understanding of human diversity factor into you creating these ripples? Why is it important to be a social change agent and what steps are you taking …show more content…
Critical thinking skills are needed for abundance of different things. Writing skills, people skills, understanding and informing are just a small list of things on why critical thinking is so important to become the pebble. Critical thinking moves the mind and makes it think outside of the person mindset. Perception plays a major role in critical thinking because, perception helps views different types of situations of a basic outcome which can help lead to answer certain questions and or create amazing ideas. With critical thinking, I can be more aware, more accepting to things and acknowledge what is actually going on in the world. This can help me understand on why other countries do some much different than my country, Why do religious people follow their own rules for years without change, also come up with all sorts of answers for one question. Critical thinking is needed for me to get chosen over my peers. If I’m different for my other peers and can turn something basic into something great I would have no hard time on becoming the pebble to change the world. Critical thinking puts people in other people shoes and makes them aware what others are going throw and how it can be changed. Understanding different types of groups is one of the most important things to become the pebble to change the world. Different types of groups have a much different perspective, food, culture, religion, language and so on. It’s also hard for certain groups to get over pass bias, an example will be a black person is getting stocked by an employee in the store because the employee assumes the black men is stealing. Then again human diversity is much more than just a race, sex, or culture. Human diversity is also personality, ideas, needs, feeling, emotions, moods and much more. The Co-Intelligence institute states that ”Unfortunately, the dominance of these hot differences overshadows hundreds of other differences, most of them very individual and many which are far more significant to our ability to generate collective intelligence.”(The Co-Intelligence institute 1).
