INTRODUCTION

Technology in the Sociology field has helped in many ways to show us how technology has a negative effect on society. Today we have advanced to automobiles, airplanes, radio, television, cellular phones, and computers. Out of everything listed above, the invention of cellular phones, computers, and television have not benefited society at all. These technologies have cost many people their lives, their interactions with other people on a daily basis, and numerous have become obese which has led to health problems. People choose to stare at their cell phone instead of paying attention to driving safe. This has cost many people their lives, and broken hearts of family members who lost a loved one. People who are prone to addictions or obsessiveness have become obsessed with their computers or the television. They sit in front of a screen for hours on end. This can cause many major health problems. The two most obvious major health problems are obesity and mental health problems. Without physical activity or face to face interaction one can gain depression and many other symptoms. Another example is we have replaced laptops with pen and paper. We no longer take the time to write things out even though many studies show this is better than using a laptop to type things out. Knowing that the future will come up with more technological advances allows the human race to be more prompt and prepared for a better life. Advances in the medical field will allow people to have hope for a better and longer life.
