Robbins and Judge suggest that the grapevine is compiled of three components; “not controlled by government, perceived by most employees as being more believable, and used to serve the self-interests of other people within it (p.359)”. If this type of communication is implemented in my work environment, I will be able to better assess what my staff is thinking and feeling. Additionally it offers me an opportunity to display how negative gossip or negative talk can have on the work environment. If information is passed from one individual to another, it can at least be positive information as well as beneficial
